Drawing from his family's experience in Vietnam, Jimmy appreciates the importance of limiting government interference. Gun Violence Prevention

Jimmy acknowledges the urgent need to address gun violence in our nation. He supports measures such as stricter background checks, periodic training requirements, and increased regulations on firearms ownership. By advocating for the removal of weapons of war from our streets and implementing sensible red flag legislation, Jimmy aims to protect our communities and ensure that our children can attend school without fear.

Fair Taxation

Wildfire Recovery & Prevention

Government is asleep at the switch on wildfires, which is particularly concerning given our wildfire experiences in recent years throughout California. There is no excuse for not implementing incentives for people to prepare themselves and their properties for fire emergencies. I will work to get fire victims back on their feet, secure our insurance market, help incentivize best practices for fire prevention, and beef up state efforts at vegetation management.

Reproductive Rights

I support the work of Planned Parenthood and NARAL and as your Senator will join them on the front lines of advocating for reproductive freedom for all. Twenty-one states have passed bans on basic reproductive rights since the Supreme Court wiped away protections under Roe v. Wade. We need leaders in the California State Legislature who will protect access to affordable reproductive care, fight abortion bans, and reject limitations on both birth control and IVF.

Housing & Homelessness

We need state law to promote policies that address housing costs and the issues that lead to homelessness. Right now, state policies make those problems dramatically worse. We need to incentivize new housing at all price points in places where they make sense. We must build our way towards a more affordable California for everyone, clean up our streets, and help people recover their dignity.
